About the Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a true icon, a vehicle so versatile and enjoyable to own that it helped to popularize SUVs for the entire industry. Today, it continues to not only set the bar for its segment – but raise it – with off-road capabilities that its competitors only look capable of achieving, thanks to a choice of Quadra-Drive® 4X4 systems. A potent standard engine adds to the off-road ability and gives the Grand Cherokee a best-in-class towing capacity. For additional confidence on the trails, an available Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System gives you added control over a wide range of environments and conditions. It’s also extremely comfortable, with available features like genuine Nappa leather upholstery and an incredible available McIntosh® stereo system to go with the user-friendly Uconnect® 5 infotainment system that comes standard.

What the Critics Say

“The Jeep Grand Cherokee has one of the nicest interiors in its class. The design looks nice, and the materials are upscale, especially in the upper trims. Everything but the base trim has leather seats, and the top trims come with luxuries like massaging seats, 4-zone climate control, and premium audio systems, including a 19-speaker McIntosh sound system.” – Kelley Blue Book
“The Jeep Grand Cherokee has a lot of good things going for it. It’s comfortable and relatively spacious, and it offers class-leading towing and genuine off-road capability. We also like its well-tuned advanced driving aids that help make driving easier and safer.” – Edmunds

Jeep Grand Cherokee Features

Jeep Grand Cherokee Performance

Class-Leading Capability

The key to the success of the Jeep Grand Cherokee has always been its ability to handle a wide variety of tasks. Powering these tasks is a 3.6-liter Pentastar™ V6 that produces 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Craving even more muscle? Upgrade to the optional 2.0L Hurricane 4-Cylinder Turbo that cranks out a robust 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Jeep pairs this with an advanced 8-speed automatic transmission and a choice of three 4X4 systems: Quadra-Trac I®, Quadra-Trac II ®, and Quadra-Drive® II with a rear electronic limited-slip differential. There is an available Quadra-Lift® Air Suspension system that can raise the vehicle to give you some extra ground clearance when you’re going off-road, or lower it to improve aerodynamics on the highway. Speaking of class-exclusive features, the Grand Cherokee can tow up to 6,200 pounds, noticeably more than its competitors. However you outfit your Grand Cherokee, Trail Rated® status comes standard.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Interior

Comfortable Interior

The Grand Cherokee isn’t just for off-roading; it has become the icon it is today because it’s such an enjoyable place to be, on the road and off. There is a wide range of upholstery options, including premium cloth, leatherette with suede inserts, Capri leather, Nappa leather, and Palermo leather. Available quad-zone climate control and heated and ventilated first and second row seats mean that everybody is going to be just the right temperature. An available dual-pane panoramic sunroof provides natural light during the day, and the available multicolor ambient lighting helps you see better at night. A 6-speaker stereo comes standard, but Jeep gives audiophiles a couple of upgrade options. The first is a 9-speaker system with a 506-watt amp, but for those who want something more, there is also a 19-speaker McIntosh® system with 17 channels and 950 watts. On top of all of this, the interior is spacious, and with the back seats folded down, there is 70.8 cubic feet of cargo space.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Technology

Incredible Technology

The impressive technology in the Grand Cherokee comes in a couple of different forms. First, you have technologies that you can find in competitors – but that Jeep simply executes better – like the responsive and intuitive Uconnect® 5 infotainment system. There is also an advanced Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist System that helps you just avoid collisions while parking, but can tell you when to shift and will take over steering duties. Then there are quite a few advanced technologies that you just won’t find on other vehicles in this segment. That includes things like an available night vision camera or Hands-Free Active Driving Assist. There’s an available passenger-side touchscreen as well, so the driver can focus on the road while the passenger hunts for somewhere to have dinner, and can then send those navigation commands to the driver’s screen. All of this helps to make you safer, more comfortable, and more relaxed than you’d be in a competing vehicle.
