About the Jeep Compass
It takes a lot to stand out from the crowd in the compact SUV segment. Fierce competition has resulted in a segment that’s all basically the same. However, the rugged Jeep Compass tells a very different story. Not only does it sport attractive styling, but it possesses actual off-roading ability. That’s something you’re not going to find in this segment from manufacturers that aren’t Jeep. The Compass offers more standard equipment than you’re probably used to as well, including all-wheel drive and a 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen. The maximum towing capacity of 2,000 pounds is unusually high for its class, and standard LED headlights are still a rarity among the competitors to the Compass. Lots of aesthetic options, including a long list of available wheels, two-tone paint, and a number of exterior decal packages, make it easy to make the Compass your own.
What the Critics Say
What’s New for 2026
In what is anticipated to be the final model year for the Jeep Compass, buyers will notice a handful of key updates for the 2026 model year. Starting with the trim range, last year’s Sport variants have been discontinued. This means that despite a slightly higher price tag, the Compass now offers superior value in the form of additional standard features. There’s also a new Limited Altitude model that joins the lineup this year.
Jeep Compass Features

Proven Performance & Capability
No other brand is as synonymous with off-road capability as Jeep. This tradition carries on with the Compass, a rugged compact SUV that has the performance credentials you need to explore off the beaten path. Compass Trailhawk variants take these exceptional capabilities to the next level with highlights including a dedicated low-range crawler gear, elevated suspension, and specialized off-road-rated tires for maximum grip. In keeping with the remainder of the Jeep model range, every Compass has been painstakingly tested and engineered to live up to the Trail-Rated badge found on the front fenders. Thankfully, you don’t have to be a hardcore off-road enthusiast to take advantage of the impressive performance abilities offered by the Jeep Compass. Its standard all-wheel drive system is ready to react to slippery conditions, helping you maintain control and drive with complete confidence when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Groundbreaking Technology
It’s the incredible technology used in the Jeep Compass that gives it such impressive off-road ability. But that’s not the only area where the tech found on the Compass impresses! Its standard Uconnect® 5 infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ and is displayed on a 10.1-inch touchscreen, larger than many of the optional screen upgrades offered in other compact SUVs. An available wireless charging pad eliminates clutter from cables and wires, letting you enjoy a more seamless listening experience via its available Alpine® 9-speaker premium stereo system. Standard LED projector headlamps provide superior illumination along with a stylish complement to the attractive exterior design of the Compass. A lot of the tech on the Compass is safety-focused, with impressive standard features like Blind-Spot and Cross-Path Detection, Active Lane-Management System, and Hill-Start Assist.

Premium Interior
Engineered to easily adapt to the demands of your daily life, the interior of the Jeep Compass impresses with a variety of comfort features and useful amenities that come in handy when you need them most. Available leatherette seating surfaces offer color-contrast stitching, allowing you to enjoy a mix of support and durability. Especially useful on freezing winter days here in Ohio, optional heated front seats and a heated steering wheel help you stay warm and toasty when the temps begin to plummet. Multiple different interior color themes make it easy to custom-tailor the interior of the Compass to match your personal preferences. At the press of a button, you can open its available dual-pane panoramic sunroof to enjoy some sunshine and breathe some fresh air inside the Jeep Compass.
